To provide Life Insurance coverage to all the citizens of India who are above the age of 70 years the Union Cabinet of India has approved the implementation of the Ayushman Bharat Scheme for Senior Citizens 2024.
Under this initiative, the government of India will provide health insurance coverage of up to INR 5 lakh to all senior citizens above the age of 70. According to sources, the authorities will release the PMJAY for senior citizens on 29 October 2024. All the senior citizens selected under the scheme are eligible for life insurance coverage of INR 5 lakh.
