What is Pilot Run ?

Where Open Book Tests Will be conducted?
Due to Covid, many universities like Delhi University, Jamia Millia Islamia, Jawaharlal Nehru University and Aligarh Muslim University were conducting open book tests. In this way, open book examination will also be organized by CBSE Board and these examinations will be conducted in big exam centers of CBSE Board under the supervision of officers. If this plan is successful then very soon it will be conducted in all CBSE schools of the country. This plane will be launched.
The pilot will be held in select schools in November-December for subjects like English, Mathematics and Science for Classes 9 and 10, and English, Mathematics and Biology for Classes 11 and 12. The CBSE has proposed this form of assessment based on the National Curriculum Framework (NCF) released last year.
How It Will Works?
In an open book exam (OBE), students are allowed to refer to their books and notes to answer questions. OBEs can be either of a restricted type or a free type. In a restricted open book assessment, only the study material approved by the exam-conducting authority is allowed during the exam. The CBSE Open Book Exams, officially known as the Competency-Based Assessment (CBA) scheme, are designed to assess students’ analytical, theoretical, and practical application skills.
Why Open Book Exam Plan Released Now?
Contrary to popular assumption, open-book exams are not a new idea. In 2014, CBSE had introduced an Open Text Based Assessment (OBTA) to relieve the students from the burden of mugging up, and acquiring skills of information processing.
Through this open book exam plan of CBSE, all the subjects will be affected by the mental condition of the students and they will be able to learn in a very good manner and the students will be able to keep their mental condition right under the pressure of the examination because they have to prepare for this exam. Through the plan, some contents related to the subject will be made available in the examination, using which you will be able to complete your examination very easily.
